Hand-sculpted sculpture in Brazil red sandstone. The bowl rests on a fluted base, flanked by arched handles whose tops are crowned with artichoke heads in mirror-polished gold bronze. The matte texture of the terracotta contrasts with the metallic sheen of the bronze—a blend of archaism and refinement, ritual object and sculptural form.
